Lantrani Movie Story and Review
‘Lantrani’ starts with a powerful story named ‘Hud Hud Dabangg’. It is about a policeman, played by Johnny Lever, who gets an important job after many years of desk duty. He learns important things during his journey to escort a prisoner to court. The story is directed by Kaushik Ganguly and written by Durgesh Singh. This is the best one in the collection because it is entertaining and meaningful. Johnny Lever’s acting is excellent and so is Jisshu Sengupta’s.
Next is ‘Dharna Mana Hai’, starring Jitendra Kumar and Nimisha Sajayan. Sajayan’s character becomes a sarpanch but he does not have much power. She joins her husband in a silent protest to fight prejudice. Directed by Gurvinder Singh and written by Durgesh Singh, the story is slow but interesting.
The last story is ‘Sanitized News’. It is about a local news channel that is struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic. Directed by Bhaskar Hazarika, it talks about fake news and commercialization. The ending of this story is not that strong, but still entertaining.
What makes ‘Lantrani’ special is that it talks about various problems of rural India without being boring. The cinematography and production design are also very good. Overall, ‘Lantrani’ is a touching and enlightening collection of stories that highlight important issues in our society.
