Story:
Krish (Dev) is a budding filmmaker who is married to his cousin Radha (Priya Chauhan). While chasing his dreams, Krish meets a girl named Mahi (Sarita) and gets involved in an affair. This betrayal deeply hurts Radha, causing problems in their married life. Krish wants to end things with Mahi to make things right with Radha, but Mahi refuses to let go easily. The second part of the story reveals why Mahi came into Krish’s life and whether there is more to the story than meets the eye.
Performance:
Dev plays Krish with ease, the light tone of the movie allowing him to be natural in his performance. Priya and Sarita do a good job as Krish’s wife and girlfriend. Their chemistry and the struggles they face are shown with some humour, which the actresses handle well.
Bunny, Shannu and Lucky make brief guest appearances.
Analysis:
Director Murali Ramaswamy tackles a story that deals with issues like extramarital affairs, cheating and problems in relationships, which are common in today’s world. Instead of avoiding these topics, the film tries to explore them openly.
The title Deenamma Jeevitham is often used by disillusioned youth, which fits the film’s focus on man’s struggles. The story mostly shows things from Krish’s point of view.
The flashback scenes in the second half are interesting. The film is fun to watch but also conveys an important message about the consequences of seeking short-lived happiness outside of marriage. Some scenes are bold, similar to the recent film ‘Animal’.
RS’s music and Suresh Gangula’s lyrics match the tone of the film well. Johnny Basha’s editing and Satesh Kare’s cinematography also help in telling the story effectively.
