In 2024, there was this big movie called “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.” It was directed by Adam Wingard, who also directed “Godzilla vs. Kong” in 2021. This new film is part of the MonsterVerse series, which is all about big monsters fighting each other. It is the fifth film in the series and the 38th Godzilla film overall and the 13th King Kong film.
The film stars Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Kayleigh Hottle, who also appeared in the previous film. They play characters who team up with Kong to stop an evil monster and save the world.
The idea of this film came about because the previous film did really well, even as COVID-19 caused problems for films. They started filming it in 2022 and it took a few months to finish.
They filmed many spectacular special effects scenes in Australia. Then, the film premiered in Los Angeles in March 2024. Now, everyone is waiting for the release in theaters on March 29, 2024, so that they can see the big monsters fighting on the big screen again.

Review, Story & Plot
We don’t yet know exactly how much money they spent on Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire. But, based on previous films in the MonsterVerse, we can guess. Each film, starting with Godzilla in 2014, cost at least $155 million to make. So, it is possible that Godzilla X Kong may also be priced around this price. No film has ever cost more than $200 million. But all of them have grossed an average of over $488 million at the worldwide box office. Even though Godzilla: King of the Monsters did not receive good reviews, the other films performed well enough to reassure the studio. Therefore, they may be willing to spend more money on Godzilla X Kong. Considering all this, it’s fair to think that the budget for Godzilla X Kong was probably around $200 million. Especially since it’s expected to have even bigger monster battles and fancy CGI effects than the previous films.
