Mohra (meaning Pawn) is a 1994 Indian action thriller film made in Hindi. It was co-written, edited and directed by Rajeev Rai and produced by his father Gulshan Rai. The film stars Naseeruddin Shah, Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Raveena Tandon and others. Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal worked together for the first time in this film.

Divya Bharti was originally slated to play the lead, but died early during the shoot. Raveena Tandon replaced him, as she did in another film titled Dilwale the same year.

Mohra was a huge success at the box office, becoming the second highest-grossing Indian film after 1994’s Hum Aapke Hai Kaun..!. It received nine nominations at the Filmfare Awards in 1995, including Best Film, Best Director and Best Music Director. The film’s songs, especially “Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast” featuring Raveena Tandon, became huge hits. The song was based on the famous qawwali song “Dum Mast Qalandar Mast Mast” by Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. The soundtrack album sold over 8 million copies, making it the second best-selling Bollywood soundtrack of 1994 after Hum Aapke Hai Kaun..!.
