Sai Sudharsan Biography
Bharadwaj Sai Sudarshan, born on October 15, 2001 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, is an uncapped Indian cricketer. He bats left-handed and can also bowl right-arm leg-break. Sai comes from a sporting family; his father, R Bharadwaj, played volleyball for India at the 1993 SAFF Games in Dhaka, and his mother, Usha Bharadwaj, was a state-level volleyball player.
Sai first gained attention by scoring 635 runs for Alwarpet CC in the 2019–20 Raja Palayampatti Shield (the first division of Tamil Nadu cricket). His prolific batting earned him a place in T20 cricket, and he was called up to play for Tamil Nadu in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
He made his debut for Tamil Nadu in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on November 4, 2021, and played his first 50-over game in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for the 2021–22 season the following month. Earlier, Sai played for India A in the 2019-20 Under-19 Challenger Trophy, in which he opened the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Sai’s performance in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) made him famous. He became the most expensive player in the TNPL when Lyca Kovai Kings bought him for Rs 21.6 lakh ahead of the IPL 2023 season. Sai’s TNPL career got off to a strong start in 2021 when he scored 87 runs off 44 balls for Lyca Kovai Kings. On 7 April 2022, Sai scored 35 runs off 30 balls and helped Gujarat Titans win the match. This was notable because he had to bat suddenly after Vijay Shankar was injured before the match. Sai’s team Gujarat Titans won the IPL title that year.
In the 2023 IPL season, Sai played several crucial innings early on for Gujarat Titans. However, he missed the second half of the league stage due to unknown reasons. He returned for the playoffs and played a brilliant innings in the final, although Gujarat Titans lost to Chennai Super Kings in a thrilling encounter.
