The Gentlemen Web Series Story & Review
Guy Ritchie is bringing his swagger from the big screen to Netflix with “The Gentlemen” TV series. I was a bit worried because Ritchie’s style is so suited to movies, but let’s see how it goes.
The show isn’t a total flop, but it’s definitely hit and miss. There are some cool moments and great performances, but then there are these long, boring scenes that just drag on. It feels like they’re stalling to get to the good stuff.
The story follows Eddie Horniman, played by Theo James, who gets pulled into his family’s crime world after his dad dies. Eddie’s character feels a bit flat, and Theo James doesn’t really bring much to the table. But Kaya Scodelario, who plays Eddie’s partner in crime, adds some spark to the show.
While the series nods to the original movie, it’s more like a distant relative. It tries to capture the flashy criminal world of the UK, but it doesn’t quite hit the mark.
Overall, “The Gentlemen” TV series has its moments, but it’s not as cool or exciting as the movie.
