Ae Watan Mere Watan Amazon Prime Movie Story and Review

“Aye Watan Mere Watan” tells a lesser-known story of India’s freedom struggle, which had a major impact after Mahatma Gandhi’s Quit India Movement. The film really depicts the time period well with its elaborate sets and costumes. But even though it promises thrilling moments, it still feels like a suspense thriller. It is based on the lead character Usha Mehta, who tries to save an underground radio station from the British.

The story starts in Surat in the 1930s and then reaches Mumbai in 1942. Usha’s father is a judge in British India and Usha is not happy with this. She is inspired by Gandhi’s ideas and decides to join the Congress to help India gain independence. Usha noticed that there was a lack of communication between the freedom fighters, so she, along with Firdous Engineer, set up a secret radio station to connect them. He gets help from people like Ram Manohar Lohia. But when the British came to know of their plan, it became a dangerous game of hide and seek.

Sara Ali Khan is playing the character of Usha Mehta, but her character seems a bit shallow. The emotional scenes are not as strong as they should be and Sara’s acting seems a bit loose. John Lear, played by Alex O’Neil, is a British man trying to stop Usha. He is always angry, but there is not much depth to his character. The best performances come from Sparsh Srivastava as Fahadh and Emraan Hashmi as Ram Manohar Lohia. Sparsh brings great intensity to his role and Emraan once again showcases his acting skills.

Overall, the story of “Ae Watan Mere Watan” is good, but it could have been more exciting. It’s like the TV show “All the Lights We Can’t See”, but it doesn’t grab your attention as much. It’s consistent with history, which is good, but it could have been more thrilling.
