Baipan Bhari Deva Review & Story
In a song about sisters being stronger together, Baipan Bhari Deva tells a different story. It is about six sisters – Jaya, Shashi, Pallavi, Sadhana, Ketaki and Charu who frequently argue. Can they put aside their differences for a special event organized to heal old wounds?
Kedar Shinde’s film is heart-touching and easy to enjoy. In Marathi it is translated as “regret, the burden of womanhood”. It both makes you laugh and cry.
Vaishali Naik’s screenplay adds a nice touch of humor while depicting the ups and downs of the brotherhood.
Sisters face all kinds of problems, big and small. Jaya is unhappy, Charu’s husband is difficult, Shashi feels she has been abandoned, Pallavi will not divorce her husband, Ketaki boasts of her money, and Sadhna’s father-in-law is mean.
Their problems come to the fore during a competition called Mangala Gaur Samaroh. This is their chance to come together, but old issues threaten to ruin it.
The film talks about aging and feeling insecure. As the sisters prepare for the competition, they face challenges related to aging and family.
The actors do a great job, making the story feel real. Although the technicalities are not perfect, the film still feels like a stage play at times.
The story quickly moves from tragic to ridiculous moments, increasing the excitement of the competition. Despite the overcrowding, there are touching scenes that make you both laugh and cry.
In the end, despite some predictable twists, the film’s resolution feels earned. It’s a satisfying ending to a story about brotherhood and forgiveness.
