Vikrant Massey had an incredible year in 2023 as he became a major star. It was a big decision for Indian cinema when Vidhu Vinod Chopra cast him in the film 12th Fail. After the immense success and praise of this film, Vikrant Massey is now working on his next film The Sabarmati Report.
Vikrant Massey’s Journey
Massey started her acting career on TV with Disney India’s show Dhoom Machao Dhoom. He became really popular with his role as Shyam in the TV show Balika Vadhu on Colors TV. His transition from TV to film was seamless. He first appeared in Vikramaditya Motwane’s Lootera playing the role of Ranveer Singh’s friend. Her performance was so good that she was noticed and then she played an important role in Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do. Over the years, he has acted in many projects and has impressed everyone with his talent. With 12th Fail, he finally got the recognition he deserved as a lead actor.
Story of Sabarmati Report
Sabarmati Report is based on a real incident in 2002 when the Sabarmati Express train was set on fire near Godhra railway station. This tragic incident led to the terrible Gujarat riots in 2002.
Director and Production
The film is directed by Ranjan Chandel, who also directed the web series Grahan. This series was about the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Sabarmati Report is produced by Ekta Kapoor and Balaji Telefilms.
Controversy
The Sabarmati Express incident, known as the Godhra incident, led to the 2002 Gujarat riots. Movies like Naseeruddin Shah and Sarika starrer Parzania and Sushant Singh Rajput’s debut Kai Po Che also touched upon these incidents but did not create much controversy. Hopefully, the Sabarmati Report will also present the story in a balanced manner without any bias.
