Her father Sadiq Ali was an actor and her mother Sharda Rai was an actress who later became a film producer. Reena was one of four children, she had two sisters, Barkha and Anju, and a brother named Raja. After the separation of her parents, her mother changed the names of all the children, and Reena’s name was changed to Rupa Rai.
